Each week we come across some great sites and articles. Here is just a little of what we have been reading.

This Elle Magazine article titled “Feast of Burden” takes us into the depths of the mind and emotions of anorexics during their most dreaded holiday, Thanksgiving. There is a tremendous psychological and intrapersonal and interpersonal struggle that occurs around this holiday centered around family, food and feasting.

Research reveals two appetite lowering hormones are produced in larger quantities, the slower one eats. And that if you sleep well, you’re more likely to eat well. So, to maintain a healthy weight, slow down during meals and get a good night’s rest. Sounds good to us.

Want to re-wire your brain? Juggle. Scientists used to think that the brain couldn’t be re-wired but this study confirms that the brain can change throughout your life. Get out there and try something new!

Ah, the benefits of breastfeeding. Not just for the baby! Mothers lower their risk for breast and ovarian cancer and improve bone density. Read about it here.

Do you consistently get sore in the same spot on your shoulder or upper back? Check out this informative pain reference chart that is free to use and download. Find the spots that are sore and what muscle is most likely being affected. There are even suggested stretches for each muscle that is problematic.
